Sex Differences in Arterial Grafting in Patients Undergoing Dialysis and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

Do men and women with kidney failure undergoing dialysis experience similar survival benefit from arterial grafting?In this cohort study of 15 215 patients in a US national database, men with kidney failure undergoing dialysis were associated with better long-term survival with left internal mammary artery (LIMA) grafting and multiarterial grafting (MAG) than women with kidney failure undergoing dialysis, although neither were associated with significant survival benefit from MAG over LIMA grafting.In patients with kidney failure undergoing dialysis, sex was associated with differences in survival, although MAG may not be associated with significant survival benefit for either men or women.
