Adolescent Mental Health Care and Stigma

Can a multimedia antistigma campaign lower community stigma among adolescents, and can a primary care health worker–led digital intervention reduce depression risk in adolescents living in slums?This randomized clinical trial including 3739 participants in 60 slum clusters found an improvement in Knowledge Attitude Behavior scale scores and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 scores in the intervention group vs control cohort at 12 months.The findings suggest that a community-based intervention with antistigma and mobile health components to reduce the risk of depression and suicide or self-harm among adolescents was effective and achieved high levels of implementation fidelity.
