GH001 vs Placebo in Patients With Treatment-Resistant Depression

Does single-day treatment with inhaled mebufotenin (GH001) using an individualized dosing regimen reduce symptoms of depression in patients with treatment-resistant depression?In this randomized, double-blind phase 2b trial among 81 patients, GH001 treatment significantly reduced Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale scores from baseline to day 8 vs placebo. Patients treated with GH001 experienced significantly greater remission than those receiving placebo.Significant improvements in depression symptoms observed after GH001 vs placebo treatment support its potential as a novel, rapid-acting treatment for treatment-resistant depression.
