Clinical Severity Staging System and Response to Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation for Obstructive Sleep Apnea

What baseline factors are associated with response to hypoglossal nerve stimulation in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)?In this retrospective cohort study of 119 patients with OSA, neck size, body mass index, apnea-hypopnea index scores, and comorbidity burden were associated with response and used to create a 4-category clinical severity staging system.This study presents a prognostic staging system that physicians may use to identify patients with OSA who have the highest chance of responding to hypoglossal nerve stimulation.
