Pickleball Players’ Reported Use of Protective Eyewear

What are trends in protective eyewear use among professional and amateur pickleball players?In this survey study, self-reported eyewear use was low among professionals and higher among amateurs. Some players were aware of the risks of injury, though many chose to not use protective eyewear due to discomfort, while others did not recognize the possibility of eye injury in pickleball.These results suggest increased efforts are needed to educate pickleball players about the importance of eyewear use and improve the usability of eyewear to improve pickleball eye safety.
