What are the ocular risks associated with prescribed topical atropine for myopia control in 8- to 15-year-old children? In this cohort study of 1 213 846 Taiwanese children with at least 5 years of follow-up, the incidence of ocular complications was higher in the myopia group compared with the nonmyopia group but was not different between atropine users and nonusers in myopic participants. No increased risk was observed with higher cumulative atropine doses. These findings provide information for weighing risks and benefits of atropine use in myopia control among 8- to 15-year-old children.
