Nine-Valent Human Papillomavirus Vaccination and Related Cancers in Males

Is the 9-valent human papillomavirus (9v-HPV) vaccine associated with lower risk of cancer in males?This cohort study of 615 155 vaccinated and 2 290 623 unvaccinated males aged 9 to 26 years found that males vaccinated with the 9v-HPV vaccine had a lower risk of HPV-related cancer compared with the unvaccinated cohort. The negative association of the 9v-HPV vaccine with HPV-related cancer was maintained in both males aged 9 to 14 years and males aged 15 to 26 years.The findings of this study suggest that the 9v-HPV vaccine is beneficial not only for females but also for males.
