Combination of Radiotherapy and Immunotherapy in Advanced Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer

What is the optimal sequencing of radiotherapy and immunotherapy (iRT) in newly diagnosed advanced and refractory non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)?In this cohort study including 3522 patients with newly diagnosed NSCLC, sequential iRT was associated with longer overall survival than concurrent iRT; effects appeared stronger with definitive radiotherapy, but interaction testing was not significant. Chemotherapy was also associated with longer survival.In newly diagnosed advanced NSCLC, sequential iRT may be preferred.
