Is higher consumption of ultraprocessed foods (UPFs) associated with increased risk of early-onset colorectal neoplasia before age 50 years? In this cohort study of 29 105 female nurses younger than 50 years who underwent lower endoscopy, those with the highest quintile of UPF intake had a statistically significant 45% higher odds of early-onset colorectal conventional adenomas compared with the lowest quintile; no association was observed for serrated lesions. Results of this study suggest that reducing UPF intake may be an effective dietary strategy to prevent early-onset colorectal tumorigenesis.
