Grade Group 1 Prostate Cancer Outcome by Biopsy Grade and Risk Group

Do cancer-specific outcomes of individuals with grade group 1 prostate cancer on biopsy differ based on validated risk stratification?In this contemporary population-based cohort study of 299 746 men, almost 1 in 6 men with grade group 1 prostate cancer has non–low-risk cancer. These men with grade group 1 prostate cancer have significantly higher rates of adverse pathology at surgery and prostate cancer–specific mortality than those with low-risk prostate cancer.Grade group 1 cancer-specific outcomes are heterogeneous, and men with nonlow risk may have worse oncologic outcomes compared with men who have low risk.
