Early Treatment With Intravenous Immunoglobulins and Outcomes of Patients With Anti-IgLON5 Disease

Is early immunotherapy associated with better long-term outcomes in anti-IgLON5 disease?This cohort study of 107 patients with anti-IgLON5 disease found that baseline disability and initiation of immunotherapy within the first year after disease onset were the main factors associated with long-term outcome and death. Notably, early intravenous immunoglobulin use was associated with a favorable outcome and fewer deaths at most recent follow-up.These findings suggest that immunotherapy should be introduced as early as possible in anti-IgLON5 disease, with intravenous immunoglobulins emerging as a promising treatment option.
