Early-Onset Metastatic Colorectal Adenocarcinoma Incidence and Survival Among Patients Younger Than 50 Years

What patterns in advanced colorectal adenocarcinoma are becoming more common among young people?This cohort study shows that the increase in incidence of colorectal metastatic adenocarcinoma concerned mainly young patients with multiple metastatic sites, as well as the peritoneum rather than the liver or lungs. Survival improved over time except for cases with peritoneal involvement.The increasing burden of peritoneal metastases in early-onset colorectal adenocarcinoma suggests tailoring management strategies and taking metastatic location into account in future studies.
