Risk Prediction Model for Taxane-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Early-Stage Cancer

What risk factors are associated with taxane-induced peripheral neuropathy (TIPN)?In this cohort study of 1278 participants with early-stage cancer receiving a taxane-based chemotherapy regimen, a 2-step training and test approach was used to derive a TIPN risk prediction model. A model with 5 adverse risk factors predicted disparate levels of TIPN risk.This study suggests that a risk prediction model for TIPN may guide treatment decision-making, symptom monitoring, and supportive care.
