Upper Lip Frenulum Findings and Breastfeeding Problems in Healthy Newborns

What is the role of upper lip-tie anatomical variations in neonatal breastfeeding problems?In this cohort study of 264 consecutive mother-infant dyads, most mothers (86.4%) had breastfeeding problems. However, no associations between distinct maxillary frenulum findings and mother-reported breastfeeding problems were detected.These findings suggest that the upper lip-tie has no meaningful role in breastfeeding problems among full-term, healthy infants.
