Breast, Cervical, and Colorectal Cancer Screening Rates in Women Aged 45 to 64 Years

How is timely cancer screening use in women aged 45 to 64 years distributed across 3 routinely recommended screening tests (breast, cervical, and colorectal)?In this cross-sectional study, an estimated 17.9 million US women aged 45 to 64 years were due for at least 1 cancer screening test, most commonly colorectal cancer. Among those due for at least 1 screening test, nearly half were due for multiple tests.These findings suggest that interventions to address uptake of multiple cancer screening tests—either through addressing access and common barriers to screening or by bundling tests together—could be particularly beneficial for reducing cancer mortality in middle-aged women.
