Electronic Health Record Monitoring Dashboard and Developmental Screening in Pediatric Patients

Is an electronic health record–based monitoring dashboard associated with improved pediatric screening for autism and developmental delays and case completion rates in an integrated health system?In this cohort study of 17 303 early childhood referrals for screening, questionnaire return rates increased from 41% to 55%, time to questionnaire return decreased by a mean of 6.62 days, and case completion decreased by 37.07 days following dashboard implementation.These findings suggest that electronic health record–based monitoring tools offer scalable solutions to reduce disparities and streamline screening processes in a large, integrated health care system.
