Patient Safety Events Among Children Receiving Home Health Care

How often and what types of patient safety events are reported by pediatric home health care staff?In this multistate cohort study of pediatric home health care data of 2901 children, more than 1 in 10 children had an incident reported by agency staff. Half of reported events were safety related and one-quarter caused harm to the child.Results of this study suggest that increased supports are needed to enhance pediatric home care safety.
