US General Election State-Level Ballot Measures and Legislative Implications for LGBTQ+ Health

What are the 2024 state-level ballot measures that threaten lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other sexual and gender minority (LGBTQ+) health?Of 154 state-level ballot measures in the 2024 US general election, 22 were identified as having potential protective or harmful implications for LGBTQ+ health across 5 domains. Eighteen were protective, of which 14 passed; 1 had limited implications; and 3 were harmful, of which 2 passed, highlighting variability in state-level legislative implications for LGBTQ+ health.Understanding the implications of these measures is critical for protecting health care access and promoting equity for LGBTQ+ individuals in a rapidly shifting legislative environment.
