Can a smartphone-delivered digital cognitive behavioral therapy (DCBT) intervention treat and maintain reductions in generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) symptoms better than an active control condition? In this randomized clinical trial involving 351 adults with GAD, a smartphone-delivered DCBT yielded greater anxiety reduction and remission rates at posttreatment follow-up compared with psychoeducation. The findings suggest that offering CBT in a smartphone-delivered digital format is effective for the treatment of GAD in adults.
