What are existing barriers and facilitators to follow-up after endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA)?This qualitative study used semistructured interviews of 55 health care professionals, key clinical personnel, and patients and found that patient perceptions of EVAR and memory and attention issues were barriers to follow-up, while existing social support and protocolization facilitated follow-up adherence. This study suggests that targeted patient education, refined protocolization, and resources to target social disadvantage are needed to improve postoperative follow-up after EVAR.
