Is there an association between antenatal corticosteroids (ACS) and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in very preterm infants? In this cohort study of 1097 infants with gestational age less than 30 weeks, a complete course of ACS was significantly associated with a reduced risk of BPD, particularly in singleton infants delivered vaginally at 28 weeks’ to 28 weeks 6 days’ gestation. These findings suggest that ACS could optimize pulmonary outcomes and reduce incidence of BPD in very preterm infants.
