Does liraglutide improve weight loss for those with a suboptimal response to metabolic bariatric surgery? In this randomized clinical trial that included 48 adults, the group treated with liraglutide had a mean total body weight loss of 4.4% at 12 months vs a body weight increase of 1.4% in the control group. These results suggest that obesity management medications, such as liraglutide, may be useful adjuncts for people who have had a suboptimal weight loss after metabolic bariatric surgery.
