What is the risk of ischemic placental disease and severe morbidity among pregnant patients with insomnia or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)?In this cross-sectional study of 4 145 096 pregnant individuals with singleton live births, the adjusted risk of ischemic placental disease and severe morbidity in patients with insomnia or OSA was higher than in those without a sleep disorder. Insomnia and OSA were associated with an increased risk of preterm birth. The findings suggest that insomnia or OSA during pregnancy may be associated with increased risk of ischemic placental disease, severe morbidity, and preterm birth.
