Smartwatch Use and Physician Well-Being

Does wearing a smartwatch and having access to its physiological data (eg, sleep, step count, and heart rate) improve the well-being of physicians?In this randomized clinical trial including 184 physicians, burnout was lower and resilience was higher at 6 months among physicians in the intervention arm vs the control arm after adjusting for baseline score, demographics, specialty, and work hours.Wearing a smartwatch and having access to its data may be a worthwhile individual strategy that improves physicians’ well-being.
