Are specific T-cell receptor clonotypes associated with disease progression and survival outcomes in mycosis fungoides (MF) and Sézary syndrome (SS)?In this retrospective cohort study of 125 patients with MF/SS, there was a statistically significant association of Vb20 clonotype with advanced-stage MF/SS, folliculotropism with coexisting large cell transformation, and poor overall survival. The Vg8 clonotype is associated with advanced-stage MF/SS and poor overall survival. The study results suggest that identifying specific T-cell receptor gene clonotypes that are associated with poorer prognosis may serve as biomarkers used to enhance patient stratification, potentially enabling earlier intervention with closer monitoring and more aggressive treatment strategies.
