Efficacy and Safety of Seltorexant in Insomnia Disorder

Does seltorexant, a selective orexin-2 receptor antagonist, provide clinical benefit in insomnia disorder?In a randomized clinical trial including 364 adult participants with insomnia disorder, seltorexant showed a statistically significant dose-response relationship in latency to persistent sleep and wake after sleep onset over the first 6 hours on night 1 in the 10-mg and 20-mg groups vs placebo and in the 20-mg group vs zolpidem.Seltorexant, 10 mg and 20 mg, demonstrated efficacy in the initiation of sleep in participants with insomnia without psychiatric comorbidity.
