What are the incidence of and demographic factors associated with pickleball-related ocular injuries over the past 20 years in the United States? In this cross-sectional study using the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System database between 2005 and 2024, the incidence of pickleball-related ocular injuries increased by an estimated 405 injuries per year from 2021 to 2024.These findings suggest that pickleball-related ocular injuries have increased markedly over the past 4 years in conjunction with the sport’s growing popularity, supporting the need to develop standardized guidelines for eye protection.
