Can the 10-year risk of heart failure or cardiomyopathy (HF/CM) in adult women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer (BC) be predicted based on the cancer treatment and preexisting cardiovascular risk factors? In this study among 26 044 women with newly diagnosed invasive local or regional BC, an internally validated risk prediction model had good discrimination and calibration characteristics, demonstrating the ability to predict the 10-year risk of HF/CM in women with newly diagnosed early-stage BC.This risk prediction model for HF/CM among women with early-stage BC may improve the ability to risk stratify women and better identify who may benefit from cardiac monitoring during and after cancer treatment.
