Sex Differences in Mortality and Health Care Utilization After Dementia Diagnosis

Do male and female patients with dementia have similar mortality rates and use of health care services after dementia diagnosis?In this study, male patients with dementia had higher mortality and hospitalization rates than female patients, even after controlling for individual factors, such as age and medical comorbidities.Sex differences in population-level mortality from dementia are likely not attributable to higher mortality rates following dementia diagnosis.
