Is primary care–initiated continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) associated with improved hemoglobin A levels and reduced acute health care utilization among insulin-treated adults with diabetes? In this cohort study of 8502 adults with insulin-treated diabetes seen in primary care settings, CGM initiation was associated with significantly greater reductions in hemoglobin A levels and lower rates of hospitalizations and emergency department visits compared with noninitiation. These findings suggest that expansion of CGM use within primary care settings may improve population-level diabetes management.
