Is food insecurity associated with lower adherence to US Preventive Services Taskforce–recommended cancer screening, and is Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participation associated with attenuation of these disparities? In this cross-sectional study of 251 107 adults in the 2022 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, food insecurity was associated with lower colorectal, breast, and cervical cancer screening adherence. Among food-insecure adults, SNAP participation was associated with higher adjusted screening probabilities across all 3 modalities. These findings suggest that food insecurity was associated with lower adherence to preventive cancer screening, and SNAP participation was associated with attenuation of these disparities among food-insecure adults.
