What is the probability that prehospital tranexamic acid (TXA) is associated with reduced 30-day mortality in patients with trauma at risk of hemorrhage when analyzed with a bayesian approach? In this quality improvement study with a post hoc bayesian analysis of the STAAMP trial in 903 patients, the posterior probability that TXA was associated with a 30-day mortality benefit ranged from 84% to 99%, including under a noninformative prior. These findings suggest that prehospital TXA is associated with a high probability of improved survival, and bayesian methods may enhance inference by quantifying the probability of benefit and incorporating prior clinical evidence.
