The California 2020 Medi-Cal Expansion to Young Adults and Coverage Among Noncitizens

What was the association of the California 2020 Medi-Cal expansion to young adults regardless of immigration status with the uninsured rate and coverage among noncitizens aged 19 to 25 years?This cross-sectional study of 19 773 California noncitizens aged 19 to 25 years found that the 2020 Medi-Cal expansion was associated with statistically significant increases in Medi-Cal coverage (4.2 percentage points) and any coverage of (3.5 percentage points), with no significant change in private insurance.These findings suggest that expansion was associated with significant gains in Medi-Cal coverage and any coverage.
