What are best practices for hospital-based initiation of medications for opioid use disorder in patients using high-potency synthetic opioids?In this survey study, 42 experts agreed rapid methadone initiation, low- and high-dose buprenorphine initiation, and provision of full agonist opioids to treat opioid withdrawal were appropriate in the hospital setting.The expert consensus in this survey study can guide current hospital-based practice and reflects the need for more robust research evaluating these practices.
