Neighborhood Deprivation and Days Spent at Home After Fall-Related Hip Fracture

Is neighborhood socioeconomic status associated with days spent at home after fall-related hip fracture among older Medicare beneficiaries?In this cohort study of 52 012 older adults with a fall-related hip fracture, higher neighborhood socioeconomic deprivation, as measured by the Area Deprivation Index, was negatively associated with days spent at home after hip fracture over 12 months.These results suggest the socioeconomic context of the neighborhood environment is associated with home time for Medicare beneficiaries after a fall-related hip fracture.
