What are the effects of awake prone positioning on the incidence of intubation and/or death in nonintubated patients with COVID-19 and hypoxemic respiratory failure? In this randomized clinical trial of 445 patients, the posterior probability that APP decreased intubation and/or death over the first 28 days of admission compared with standard care was high at 93.8%.Findings of this trial support the use of awake prone positioning in patients with hypoxemic pneumonia due to COVID-19 infection.
