Is gamma–transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) over the precuneus effective in a home-based setting for patients with Alzheimer disease? In this randomized clinical trial including 50 patients with prodromal or mild Alzheimer disease, gamma tACS was found to be safe, well tolerated, and clinically effective, with improvements observed in indirect measures of cholinergic neurotransmission. Additionally, gamma tACS demonstrated the ability to entrain gamma rhythms over the parietal and frontal regions.Gamma tACS represents a promising therapeutic approach for Alzheimer disease, offering potential insights into novel treatment strategies.
