What are the correlates of fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) in patients with spontaneous cervical artery dissection (SCEAD), and is FMD associated with recurrent SCEAD?In this cohort study of 3714 patients with SCEAD, the presence of FMD was associated with distinct clinical and radiological correlates, as well as a 2.75-fold higher rate of recurrent SCEAD.These findings suggest that patients with FMD may represent a separate subgroup within the SCEAD population, with distinct correlates and a higher rate of recurrent SCEAD.
