Do middle-aged and older adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) have increased risk of incident cerebral microbleeds (CMBs)?In this cohort study of 1441 adults, participants with moderate to severe OSA had an associated increased risk of developing CMBs compared with a non-OSA group over an 8-year follow-up.This finding suggests that moderate to severe OSA may be an independent risk factor associated with incident CMBs in the general adult population.
