Early Cardiac Rehabilitation for Critically Ill Patients With Acute Decompensated Heart Failure

Are there benefits of early cardiac rehabilitation for physical function and rehospitalization for critically ill patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit?In this randomized clinical trial involving 120 critically ill patients with ADHF, there were no significant differences in Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) scores or rehospitalization rates between the group receiving cardiac rehabilitation and the group receiving usual care.An early, personalized cardiac rehabilitation program did not alter SPPB scores or rehospitalization rates for critically ill patients with ADHF compared with usual care.
