Are different fixed-dose long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA)–long-acting β-agonists (LABA) associated with differential clinical outcomes among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) treated in routine clinical practice? In this active comparator new-user cohort study of 55 817 matched pairs, once-daily umeclidinium-vilanterol dry powder inhalers were associated with a 14% lower hazard of moderate or severe COPD exacerbations than twice-daily glycopyrrolate-formoterol metered-dose inhalers and a 3% lower hazard than once-daily tiotropium-olodaterol soft mist inhalers.Patients, prescribers, and health systems may consider once-daily umeclidinium-vilanterol dry powder inhalers among new users of LAMA-LABA therapy.
