Risk of Skin Cancer Among Patients With Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Is chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) associated with increased risk of developing skin cancer and related adverse outcomes?In this cohort study including 8352 patients with CLL and 41 760 matched individuals without CLL, the 10-year risk of developing skin cancer was significantly higher among patients with CLL compared with those without CLL (13.5% vs 6.9%). Patients with CLL had increased risk of skin cancer–specific metastasis (0.7% vs 0.1%) and skin cancer–specific death (0.3% vs 0.1%).Increased risk of skin cancer and disease-specific metastasis and death was found in patients with CLL in this study.
