JAMA Dermatology 10.1001/jamadermatol.2025.4427November 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM EST
Does antibiotic exposure affect the persistence of biologic therapies in patients with psoriasis? In this cohort study including 36 129 patients from the French National Health Insurance database, antibiotic exposure was associated with an increased risk of biologic discontinuation, with a stronger effect for repeated courses. Subgroup analyses confirmed that higher antibiotic use corresponded to reduced treatment persistence. These findings suggest that antibiotics may influence the long-term durability of biologic therapies in psoriasis.
