Cardiorenal Outcomes With Tirzepatide Compared With Dulaglutide in Patients With Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease

In patients with diabetes and cardiovascular disease, is tirzepatide associated with reduced cardiorenal adverse events compared with dulaglutide?In this post hoc analysis of a parallel-design double-blind trial involving 13 165 patients, treatment with tirzepatide up to 15 mg weekly, compared with dulaglutide, 1.5 mg, was associated with a lower rate of cardiorenal adverse events.Compared with the GLP-1 agonist dulaglutide, the dual GLP-1/GIP agonist tirzepatide was associated with a lower incidence of major cardiorenal adverse events in patients with diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
