Restless legs syndrome affects approximately 3% of adults and can have negative effects on sleep and quality of life. Initial management includes cessation of exacerbating medications, as well as iron supplementation for patients with low-normal iron indices. If medication therapy is indicated, gabapentinoids are first-line treatment.
