Can a conservative dialysis strategy improve recovery of kidney function for patients with acute kidney injury who require dialysis? In this randomized clinical trial with 220 adults, dialyzing based on specific metabolic or clinical indications increased the likelihood of achieving recovery of kidney function at hospital discharge (64%) compared with the conventional treatment of 3 times per week (50%).A conservative dialysis strategy promoted recovery from dialysis-requiring acute kidney injury.
