Does coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) improve risk prediction in primary prevention of coronary events in individuals aged 50 to 64 years at baseline? In a large population-based sample of individuals without established clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, addition of CCTA data to a model including traditional risk factors and coronary artery calcification score modestly improved prediction of coronary events at 8 years of follow-up. Significant improvement in net correct reclassification was observed in the low-risk group.Information on coronary atherosclerosis from CCTA modestly improved prediction of coronary events beyond traditional risk factors and coronary artery calcium score.
