CHICAGO (May 4, 2018) – JAMA Network Open, the new online-only open access general medical journal from the JAMA Network, published its first issue May 18.
Every Friday, the journal publishes peer-reviewed clinical research and commentary from more than 40 medical and health subject areas. Every article is free online from the day of publication.
JAMA Network Open follows the same rigorous peer review, editorial and publishing standards as the other JAMA Network journals. JAMA Network Open is the 13th journal in the JAMA Network, which includes JAMA and 11 specialty journals.
Frederick P. Rivara, M.D., M.P.H., is the new journal’s founding editor in chief. Dr. Rivara, the former editor in chief of JAMA Pediatrics, is Seattle Children’s Guild Endowed Chair in Pediatrics, Professor of Pediatrics and adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Washington.
JAMA Network Open follows the launch of JAMA Cardiology in 2016 and JAMA Oncology in 2015.
