Inequities Along the Early Intervention Care Cascade for Very Preterm Infants

Are there inequities along the entire Early Intervention Care Cascade for very preterm infants in Massachusetts?In this cohort study of 7169 very preterm infants, significant racial and ethnic inequities were identified at multiple points along the Early Intervention Care Cascade, with minoritized infants having a significantly decreased odds of referral, evaluation, and receiving an Individualized Family Service Plan.Uncovering inequities at each step along the Early Intervention Care Cascade highlights the importance of examining outcomes longitudinally along a health service cascade to locate where inequities emerge and guide interventions to reduce them.
