Theater-Based Program for Collective Healing Among Asian American Health Care Professionals

Is , a webinar series of improvisational theater and skits with postperformance discussion, acceptable and feasible to teach health care trainees about cultural dilemmas encountered by Asian American health care professionals during training and their careers? This qualitative study including 67 participants in diverse health care training disciplines found to be acceptable, feasible, and impactful for addressing sensitive cultural issues in health care settings. The findings suggest novel educational methods, such as improvisational theater, may be considered to address cultural dilemmas at workplaces, creating a healing community, support, and actionable strategies for Asian American health care professionals and trainees.
